Maternity Photoshoot

I’m so glad that Laurin offered to do this photo shoot for me! I was so sick throughout my pregnancy that taking pictures was just not even part of my thought process…first time in my life! I usually walk around with a camera in my hand, if I have my tripod handy, great, if not, I’m great at making do with something around as a prop.

But I’m so so grateful for these memories! They are such a gem. I felt so ugly as my body changed, even though I knew how natural it all was, I didn’t really want to look at pictures of myself. But I think the feeling stemmed more from just not feeling good in general. As soon as I delivered, I really wished I had documented more of it and I appreciated the journey a little more (no matter how miserable it was) because of the end result.

Laurin was so perfect for the experience as she encouraged me and reassured me that I looked great with my baby bump. Ian isn’t the biggest fan of taking pictures so she was super great about bringing him in and getting a couple really heartfelt and sweet photos done pretty fast.

The time of the year was perfect, as we got some spring greenery and her shots displayed that great big Montana sky everybody is always talking about. We changed the location a couple times to get some different backdrops.
