There is something about summertime in June that makes white cotton dresses so alluring. I absolutely love the month of June. It brings so much promise of the summer. In June, it’s beautiful and sunny every day. The garden dirt is giving way to the greenery pushing upwards to meet the rays. And the weather is warm and breezy making dresses the perfect choice.
When I open up the closet where I keep all my dresses, they simply call me. I have organized my dresses so that my winter dresses are on one side and my summer dresses are on another.
I also like to color coordinate my closet, this way I can find what I want quick and match what I wear with my mood better. This morning as I looked into my closet, in the early morning sunlight, to decide what I wanted to wear, this dress was whispering my name.
So, I took it off the hanger and slipped it on. The crisp cotton smelled fresh of lavender and roses and the way it falls, will make any body type look beautiful. There is something so romantic about a dress that could be see through, but isn’t.
And the puffed sleeves? Looking at them puts me on the verge of entering the coveted world of Anne of Green Gables. Her passionate desire for puffed sleeves, like all the other fashionable girls in Avonlea, was an unforgotten subject that was brought up many a time in the Green Gables house.
I was so happy when I saw that puffed sleeves were making a comeback. I scroll through my Instagram feed and smile at the fashionable displays. My favorite ladies that have embraced this fashion trend are Jenny Cipoletti and Beck.co. They portray it beautifully.
My grandmother weats long and flowy dresses with big flowers on them and I always thought they were so beautiful. She is the kind of woman that can put something beautiful on and do all the things in it, too. She will go out in the garden, cook and bake and never look unruffled.
