Golden Hour Lighting as a Self Photographer

In this series of photographs, taken before, during and after golden hour, watch how the light changes and fades :)) The shadows that create moods and glow of the sinking sun that brings out all the pigments of skin. Even the wildflowers stretch out their petals, as wide as they can to soak up all of its glorious, evening light. It’s pure magic!

And yes, the included blurs are intentional. They represent movement and the romance of a girl alone, on top of a mountain, in a field, practicing self photography.

Now that you have scrolled through and taken a glance at it all, I mean to tell you, I was not sure about the last few shots, because, well, the sun had sunken low and gone to bed until morning’s light. But as I looked at them some more, I decided that they were just as beautiful.

With each shutter of my Nikon, the sun sank lower and lower and even when it disappeared over the treetops, remnants of light remained, magnifying details, like the pink blush on the apples of my cheeks against the contract of my dark hair.

What is it that sets your heart aglow, like the setting sun? What passion of beauty do you follow? Let me know!

Xoxo,

Lauren
