We all know that fashion has taken a turn into what can I wear today that looks like I didn’t just roll out of bed but feels like I just did.
Comfort. Comfort. Comfort.
…this is a hard pill to swallow for someone like me.
I remember there was a season where I was working 3 jobs so I was just tired all the time. A friend asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I said “Loungewear. Something comfy I can wear when I’m at home”. Because all I would dream about what coming home for a few hours to put something soft on.
But my friend, knowing me well and got me a beautiful silk and lace set. It was gorgeous, definitely what the meaning of loungewear would be defined as by me.
Fashionwear this year bending the rules a bit and melding together all the restrictions of homewear and streetwear together to create something new.
Think of a dress suit meeting the sweatsuit.
Then, put them together.
Drumroll…
Enter:
Rib knits
They will be huge this year. Everybody has their money on it. Think rib knit pants, rib knit shirts, rib knit cardigans, rib knit skirts and rib knit dresses. Get one in every color and every style.
Bright Colored and Floral.
Wild colors all mixed together, because this year, everything goes and everything matches. When looking for floral, look for what looks like a bouquet exploded on the fabric roll.

White
Go all white everything..and embrace the challenge to keep it clean
Bold Shoulders
Last year was all about that puffed sleeve. It became near impossible to find a regular shirt because all the sleeves were puffed. Some of us were delighted and I had other girlfriends tell me that this meant they would not be shopping for dresses and shirts until this trend has passed.
But this year, we take it a little further. Not only are the sleeves puffier, but they have more material, ruffles and shoulder pad inserts.

Collars
Has anyone else seen the increase in collars? Rompers, jumpsuits, shirt dresses…dress shirts worn as shirt dresses.
Remember in Sex in the City when Carrie comes home one morning from a night at Big’s in a white men’s shirt, tied at the waist with a belt and heels?
I died and went to heaven.
Oh, and is anyone else excited for the revival of the Sex and the City girls coming out soon? Ten half hour episodes more of Carrie <3
Bras
Probably another consequence of 2020’s quarantine. We all forgot how to wear shirts. Instead, now we wear bras. Lace ones, sheer ones, crocheted ones, smooth ones, bustiers, bandeaus, scoop bras, bralettes, longline bras and plunge bras.
I think the only style off limits for this purpose is the cupels bra :)))
Wide Legs
The epitome of comfort. It doesn’t matter want the material is. The extra fabric will be sensational. It’s a good way to ease back into denim. And if your feeling riskayyy, wear it low, like Britney Spears did in the 90’s.
